Fried morel mushrooms recipe, simple, milk, flour, egg.
I’ve posted previously three different morel mushroom recipes, from the simple morel omelet with wild garlic, to morels in cream sauce with beef and lastly the morel with white wine sauce, asparagus and egg.
So I wasn’t going to leave out the simplest of them, the fried morel mushrooms. Most mushrooms can be made this way, depending on size, I’ve tried a lot, from the ordinary white cap, to oyster mushrooms and the dryad’s saddle mushroom. Morels are one of the best for this procedure.
Cut the morels in half if they are big and clean the mushrooms. Give them a wash in water, or even better in milk. Milk will help the flour to stick to the mushrooms. Dust with seasoned flour (salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, whatever you choose) and then coat them with beaten egg. Fry on a high heat, shallow or deep fry for 2-3 minutes on each side.
