I’ve been taught to cook basmati rice this way by my sister in law, she’s originally from Punjab, that’s in India, and this is the best way for me, I love it.
If you choose to add peas and cumin like me, they add an extra texture and taste to the rice, but they are not essential. Either way the choice is yours.
I don’t think that any extra description or explanations are necessary. The rice will be nice and fluffy, all the grains separated, the taste is clean and full of flavour.
